POCKET GUIDE TO HOLIDAYS IN MADRID

Best time to visit

The best time to embark on luxury holidays in Madrid is from April to mid-July and September to November. We would not recommend late July or the month of August as temperatures in the city can reach 40˚C. Enjoying a Mediterranean climate, temperatures range between 15˚C – 34˚C. For sightseeing, spring and autumn are the best time to visit as temperatures are balmy and tolerable, making the city easier to navigate and there will also be fewer crowds. Events and festivals worth checking out include San Isidro Festival, Madrid Pride, San Juan Festival and Noches del Botánico.

Madrid as part of a Spain holiday

A luxury holiday to Madrid is perfectly combinable with Cuenca, Valencia, and Javea on a luxury self-drive holiday. During your three-night stay in the capital, celebrate Spanish culture and culinary delights on a gastronomic tour of San Miguel Market. Then it is time to pick up your rental car and head for Cuenca, famed for its ‘casas colgadas’ (hanging houses). Enjoy a private tour of the city’s cobbled streets, cathedral and houses hanging from the rockface. The next stop on your road trip is Valencia, where you will spend two nights. Explore its historic landmarks and ancient fishing quarter with a private guide. Conclude your luxury holiday with three nights in Javea, spending your days relaxing on the beach.
