POCKET GUIDE TO ZIMBABWE

Victoria Falls

One of the seven natural wonders of the world and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, the thundering and thrashing of the colossal Victoria Falls is enough to captivate even the most seasoned of adventurers and is an unmissable experience on an African adventure. A must experience on luxury holidays in Zimbabwe, explore the national park in all its glory, embarking on endless discoveries. These include canopy tours of the surrounding forest, guided tours of the falls, boat tours on the Zambezi River, thrilling game drives and wildlife adventures.

Zambezi River

Journey along one of Africa’s longest river when you set out on a luxury Zambezi River safari. The Zambezi’s most notable feature is the mighty Victoria Falls located on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. Here, the river plunges deep into a sheer basalt gorge. Along the riverbanks, the Zambezi supports a range of wildlife. Hippos and crocodiles reside next to calm stretches of the river, while elephants, giraffes, zebra, and Cape buffalo frequent the riverine forests.

Hwange National Park

One of the ten largest national parks in Africa, Hwange is home to the largest diversity of animals out of the world’s national parks and should be on any safari lover’s bucket list. Some 400 bird species and over 100 mammals can be seen here including leopards, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. Elephants are what the park is most famous for though, with a population between 40-50,00. Visit during the dry months of July – October for guaranteed spectacular wildlife sightings.

Mana Pools National Park

A UNESCO World Heritage site, considered as Zimbabwe’s best park and one of the top wilderness areas in Africa, Mana Pools National Park is an exceptional safari destination, where four of the Big Five can be seen along with crocodiles, hippos and wild dogs. What makes the park extra special is that guests can stay in unfenced camps and embark on walking and canoeing safaris, allowing for a totally immersive wildlife experience.
