Best Time to Travel

Cuba enjoys beautiful weather all year, with sunshine, heat and cool ocean breezes a guarantee. However, the best time to embark on Cuba luxury holidays is during the dry season, which runs from November to July, making it a perfect holiday destination for both winter sun and summer escapes. Temperatures during these months range anywhere between 17˚C to 33˚C. For sightseeing, outdoor activities and wildlife watching, visit during November to March. Those who prefer sunbathing and attending festivals should visit from April to July.

Step beyond the colourful vintage cars and cigars that Cuba is best known for and discover the wonders of its bustling capital, where African and Caribbean influences can be felt throughout. On a luxury holiday to Havana, meander through streets of baroque facades and colourful houses, admiring the blend of traditional Spanish architecture, Art Deco and Art Nouveau influences. The thriving arts scene is visible throughout the city’s museums, theatres, and festivals. The birthplace of the mojito, Havana’s bohemian bars are bursting with creative innovation.

Located on the central southern coast of Cuba, the well-preserved Spanish colonial settlement of Trinidad was designated a UNESCO World Heritage in 1988. Cultural hotspots not to be missed include Museo Histórico Municipal, Iznaga Tower, Valle de los Ingenios and Museo Romántico. The city is also surrounded by stunning natural attractions such as Playa Ancón (the best beach on the south coast) and the Sierra del Escambray Mountains, which offers hiking trails and waterfalls.

Viñales Valley

Enveloped by towering pine trees and rugged limestone cliffs that teeter above tranquil tobacco plantations, Viñales Valley, situated in the Sierra de la Órganos Mountain Range, was recognised as a national monument in 1979. It achieved UNESCO World Heritage status in 1999 for its impressive steep-sided limestone cliffs (known as mogotes), coupled with the indigenous architecture of its farms and villages. Offering opportunities for hiking, rock climbing and horseback trekking, it should be on every outdoor enthusiast’s travel bucket list.
