Luxury Holidays to Estonia

Home to more than 2,222 islands dotted with castles, churches and hilltop fortresses, Estonia’s natural beauty and medieval history are akin to the pages of a fairy tale. Bordering the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Finland, Estonia covers rocky beaches, masses of old-growth forest and countless pristine lakes. Venture into the capital of Tallinn and you will find beautiful Gothic and Baroque architecture of pointed terracotta roofs, stately façades and towering watch towers, emerging from the luxuriant greenery of the city’s trees. In the winter, Tallinn is a winter wonderland with bustling Christmas markets and twinkling lights framed by the snow-covered cityscape.

Our purpose is to create experiential luxury holidays at great value. Whether visiting Estonia on a tour of the Baltics, a stop on a cruise or on a day trip to Tallinn, we will make the destination come alive. We have partnerships with expert English-speaking guides that will ensure you get the most out of a luxury holiday to Estonia.

 POCKET GUIDE TO ESTONIA

Tallinn

Listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997, Tallinn’s Old Town is one of the most intact, medieval walled cities in Europe, boasting Gothic spires, winding cobblestone streets and fairytale Baroque architecture. Spend the day delving into Tallinn’s past with a visit to the Rocca-al-Mare Open Air Museum, the Great Guild Hall and Kiek in de Kök City Museum. After dark, take your pick from a range of cuisines at any of the city’s numerous restaurants and bars.

OROKO Top Tip

During your luxury holiday to Estonia, we highly recommend that you embark on a privately guided walking tour of Tallinn. Visit the Open-Air Museum where you can see a recreation of Estonia from the 18th-20th centuries. Other cultural sites not to be missed are the Kumu Art Museum, Tallinn Town Hall and St. Olaf’s Church, the spire of which was once the tallest in the world. Complete your exploration with a sumptuous food tour of the city’s gastronomic hotspots.

Best Time to Visit

For warm weather and plenty of exciting events including the Tall Ship Races, Olesummer (the biggest summer festival in the Baltics & Scandinavia) and Tallinn Medieval Days, the summer months of June to August are the best time to visit Estonia. This is also the ideal time to experience ‘White Nights’, where daylight extends long into the evening. For Christmas lovers, the markets are in full swing come December and are the perfect place to soak up the festive atmosphere.

Unmissable Moments

Experience panoramic views of the capital city with a visit to the Tallinn Television Tower, the country’s tallest building. Thrill seekers can head to the roof of the viewing platform and get their adrenaline fix at the extreme attraction Walk on the Edge. For those who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground, visit Telliskivi, located in an old, converted factory centre, which is the largest creative hub in Estonia and home to galleries, bars and hip cafes.
