Introduction

Spain’s less discovered heartlands are a wonderfully rewarding destination where medieval hilltop cities and protected heritage towns crop up through the landscape. Amid the country estates and olive groves of central Spain, few holidaymakers explore, sticking to the coastline and famous islands of the Canaries and Balearic. An undoubtable advantage, this means that you can experience authentic Spain, living like a true Madrileño as you conquer the city with the locals. Then, its time to set off for the hills, discovering the imperial hilltop metropolis of Toledo, the Golden City of Salamanca and the beautiful villages that surround Castilla y Léon. We’ve explored these regions on countless occasions and know just the perfect spots to experience the very best of marvellous España.
