Caiman House Field Station
Ecotourism, science and learning come together at Caiman House Field Station which is located in the remote Amerindian village of Yupukari. Set on beautiful savannah lands on the banks of the Rupununi River, visitors are surrounded by the local ecosystem. Guests can partake in exciting night-time excursions that are part of the caiman research project. Learn about these fascinating creatures and assist in data capture by helping weigh, measure and tag a caiman before releasing it into the wild. The lodge is also involved in the conservation of the Yellow-spotted Amazon river turtle.
