POCKET GUIDE TO ZERMATT SKI HOLIDAYS

Best time to travel

Ski lifts open in Zermatt from late November with breathtaking snow-sure slopes. We recommend a luxury ski holiday to Zermatt from early December to April when consistent snow fall offers skiers silk-like snow to enjoy on long runs and ensures perfect pistes throughout your stay. In the spring, the snow is powder-soft due to the warmer climate and heavy snowfall left from the winter, making for some blissful ski conditions.

Best suited to couples and groups

Zermatt is the ideal resort for couples and groups of friends with some ski experience, offering 200km of excellent pistes and a thriving après life. The snow-sure slopes are best suited for intermediate and advanced skiers, with fantastic long and diverse runs in all sections of the resort. Finish days spent gliding down the vast and varied pistes with delicious Swiss cuisine in chic restaurants, followed by sipping cocktails in trendy bars.

Non-ski activities at Zermatt

For those wanting some time-off from the slopes, Zermatt offers a range of non-ski activities to keep your days occupied. Peruse the shops and welcoming restaurants that line the main street, making sure to sample warming local delicacies like cheese fondue and Petit Royal Zermatt’s famous hot chocolate, or discover the magnificent Matterhorn up-close, with a ride on the Gornergrat Railway.

Zermatt Apres-Ski

Enjoy the lively atmosphere of Zermatt’s range of welcoming pubs and stylish bars, where live music is paired with cocktail classics and ice-cold beers. Those in search of a more relaxed evening by a crackling fire, can stop by the charming Chämi Bar Fireplace, where one can sample a delicious variety of whiskeys and wines.
