Trip Overview

Depart from Dublin to Kigali, the capital of Rwanda.
Your private driver will be waiting to transfer you to your luxury accommodation in the heart of the city. Spend one night in Kigali, catching up on some much-needed relaxation. In the morning, transfer to Akagera National Park for a two night stay.
Embark on exhilarating game drives and boat safaris.
Encounter wonderful scenes of nature, like birds landing on the backs of snoozing hippo, lions basking in the afternoon sun and the rare sitatunga antelope racing through the wetlands escaping the jaws of its predator.

Drive to Butare, stopping along the way to visit the ancient palace of Mwami.
After lunch in Butare, continue to Nyungwe National Park. We’ve arranged a two-night stay at a luxurious jungle retreat. Settle in and spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing by the rim-flow infinity pool.

Set out on a guided trek in search of chimpanzee.
Nyungwe Forest is home to these wonderfully intelligent primates as well as a diversity of birdlife. Contrasting to the calm silence of your gorilla encounter, prepare for the loud and vibrant sounds of these monkeys swinging and calling through the trees.

Rediscover the forest.
Continue exploring the wonders of the forest as you set out on a guided trek, this time in search of black and white colobus monkeys. You’ll then check out of your accommodation and take a scenic transfer to Lake Kivu.
