About Sölden

Sölden’s high altitude slopes, glacier ski areas and vast and varied terrain have gifted the resort its position as one of Austria’s most beloved ski destinations. The impressive altitude and widespread snowmaking facilities have resulted in an enviably long ski season, luring in avid skiers from October to May, and even hosting the FIS Ski World Cup every October.

The modern lift system is made up of mostly high-speed chairlifts, taking visitors from the village to some of the highest skiable peaks in Austria with gondolas arriving to the lower slopes. The huge resort is a playground for beginners, intermediate skiers and freestylers alike, with the ‘Big 3’ mountains home to an extensive network of slopes.

Surrounded by the impressive peaks of the Ötztal Valley, the traditional Tyrolean village is home to inviting timber clad houses and historic alpine buildings, spread along the Ötztaler Ache River. The scenic resort has even made it to the big screen, featuring in the James Bond film, Spectre. While promising all the charm of an Austrian village, the resort also enjoys a vibrant nightlife and excellent mountain dining.
