Visalam – CGH Earth Hotel
Visalam boutique hotel is housed within a century-old restored mansion in Tamil Nadu. Once a family home, the palatial interiors are characterful and indicative of the past, with vintage photographs, local antiques and handmade textiles throughout. Within the grounds, there are various courtyards and walled gardens as well as a spacious outdoor pool. Guests are invited to partake in immersive experiences like visits to local handloom cotton weavers and tile makers as well as enjoying a cookery class with a local Aachi (elderly lady) in the village. Guests can also explore Chettinad’s old streets, temples, markets and antique stores on a bullock cart or by cycling.
