Ciara Healy

Ciara finds that travel is the best way to connect with everything she loves—languages, food, nature, photography and of course, writing.

Her time spent living in South Korea is what really helped to shape her perspective on travel. “Living in Seoul taught me to find joy in the small, everyday moments while travelling. From discovering a new favourite cosy coffee shop to forming meaningful connections with the locals I would pass in the street every day. One of my favourite things to do was to hop on the subway and just see where it would take me, getting off at random stops and exploring new neighbourhoods. It showed me that no matter how much time you spend in a country, there’s always so much more to discover.” 

One of her recent highlights was horseback riding through Banff National Park. “It was larch season, so the trees glowed in brilliant golds and reflected off of the turquoise lakes. Our guide pointed out grizzly bear claw marks etched into the trees and we even encountered a coyote and a magnificent bull elk. Witnessing these animals and being surrounded by such breathtaking scenery, felt absolutely surreal.” Next, Ciara hopes to venture into the wild, untamed beauty of Scandinavia.
