In the company of expert eco-guides, embark on a 2.5km trail through the Sani Wetlands, where you will discover an incredible array of birds including many rare and endangered species. Another excellent nature activity to enjoy is beekeeping. Halkidiki has a long history of beekeeping, spanning more than 2,500 years. Whilst there are plenty of activities to keep you occupied within the resorts, those who are eager to discover what lies beyond should embark on a chauffeur-driven private tour of Halkidiki. Olive oil has played a role in Greek history, culture, and cuisine for millennia and remains a key element of the famously healthy Greek Mediterranean diet. During your stay at Sani, set out on an olive grove tour, where you will learn all about olives and the different olive oil varieties. Discover the importance of olives in Greek culture and tradition, from the cultivation of olive trees to their produce and when it should be used. Throughout the tour, you will get the opportunity to taste different collections of olives and olive oil. Finally, contribute to the grove by planting your own olive tree.

Koutsoupia-Siviri Hiking Trail

This tree-lined trail, which follows a wetland path along the dramatic cliff tops between Sani Resort and Siviri village, is one of the most gorgeous walks in Halkidiki, offering magnificent views from the forest to the sea. The valley of Koutsoupia is home to a wide variety of flora, including oak trees and other plant species rarely found in Halkidiki. The full length of the trail is 20 km and it’s recommended to arrange a transfer for the return rather than retrace your steps. If you prefer a shorter walk, stop after the ancient excavations area between Sani and Siviri (approx. 5 km).

Whilst swimming and sunbathing are a given at the resort due to its beachside location, there is also a wide range of water sports on offer for the more adventurous guests. You can join a guided tour or rent a kayak, sailboat, or paddleboard to explore independently. One of the most popular excursions is the guided kayaking trip, which is suitable for all abilities, from experienced paddlers to absolute beginners. Marvel at the beautiful rock formations and vibrant wildlife of the nearby Drenia Islands, stopping off for a refreshing swim in one of the many beautiful, secluded coves, and if you are lucky, you might even spot dolphins as they dash by.
