A couples’ silver wedding anniversary surprise.

Paul came to us looking for some help in planning a wedding anniversary surprise for his wife, Elizabeth. He wasn’t sure where he wanted to travel to or even what type of holiday he wanted, but he knew it had to be extra-special. He told us that Elizabeth loves the sun and they had previously experienced safaris in Africa and luxury beach holidays in the Indian Ocean. Doing something they had never done before was essential and Paul also wanted to make sure that some one-of-a-kind romantic experiences were added in.  As this was a very special occasion, Paul had a flexible budget of €10,000.

When chatting together in our Clonskeagh office, we considered all of the places they have travelled together as a couple and felt it was important to pick somewhere new. We suggested the islands of the Caribbean and for something fun and exciting, we recommended a luxury cruise. Paul was delighted with the idea, so with the destination and budget at the forefront of our minds, we began planning.

We reached out to Silversea, one of our partner luxury cruise providers who have excellent experience in luxury Caribbean cruises. Offering incredible standards of luxury on the ocean, a tailored holiday in partnership with Silversea was the perfect recipe for a romantic getaway. We set forth tailoring a luxury holiday that offered the perfect combination of tropical relaxation, local tours and water sports. Beginning with a two-night stay in Bridgetown, Barbados, the holiday would begin in complete luxury. We thought it was important that Paul and Elizabeth could relax and unwind after the long flight and could board the cruise feeling refreshed.

The Silversea cruise would depart in Barbados before setting out for St Vincent and the Grenadines. We recommended they enjoy a plantation tour or embark on a leisurely hike to the romantic Ma Peggy Lookout. The next stop is Aruba, where there would be an opportunity to take a snorkelling trip by catamaran or a unique submarine expedition. Over the next few days, the ship would travel to the Netherlands Antilles for an exploration of its Dutch architecture, the Spice Islands of Grenada to discover plantations and rainforests, and finally to the cinematically beautiful island of St Lucia. We also pre-arranged a romantic dinner in the cruise ship’s finest restaurant on the night of their wedding anniversary.

After meeting with Paul to discuss the surprise itinerary, he was excited to book the luxury cruise holiday. He knew that it would be completely unexpected and the perfect surprise for Elizabeth who loves multi-centre holidays.
