Family looking to experience their first safari adventure
Keep reading to see how we created the safari of a lifetime to South Africa and Botswana.

The Brief
- Family with kids aged 16, 14 and 12 planning a safari trip.
- First time travelling long haul as a family, so private transfers and expert guides are essential.
- Thinking of a multicentre trip that will be educational for the kids.
- Itinerary to include flights, transfers and accommodation.
- Total budget of €29,000.
What they wanted
The Noonan family called us after finding our website when searching for luxury family holidays. They were interested in organising a luxury safari holiday during April for a week to ten days. As the kids were a little bit older, they thought it was finally time to do the safari trip they had always dreamed of. An adventurous family, they were looking to enjoy plenty of activities, not just the classic game drives. With a total budget of €29,000 we knew it would be possible to put together an amazing trip that offered great value at a high level of luxury.
What OROKO created
We decided to propose Cape Town, South Africa, as the first stop on their luxury trip. It is quite accessible with minimal flight connections and has an amazing selection of luxury hotels and fun activities to choose from. Because they like to be active, we added some adrenaline-pumping activities including quad biking, sandboarding and a privately guided hike up Table Mountain.
Then, we turned our attention to the most exciting part of the trip, the safari. We’ve arranged countless family safaris and for a family looking for something extra special, Botswana is a perfect choice. We suggested a stay in a luxurious camp in Mashatu Game Reserve, where they would enjoy the quintessential safari accommodation over the water. We filled their tailored holiday with marvellous experiences including classic game drives, photography masterclasses and, what became their favourite memory; mountain biking through the Kalahari Desert and spotting some of the world’s greatest predators.
After speaking to our partners and cross-checking every price to ensure the family were getting amazing value, we presented this nine-night itinerary to them. They loved the idea of starting their adventure in Cape Town and they were extremely excited to experience the safari portion of their trip in Botswana.
