One of the most iconic experiences Ischgl has to offer is the famous ‘Duty-Free’ run, an 8 km descent leading down to the neighbouring resort of Samnaun in Switzerland. Best time to visit
Thanks to the resort’s impressive elevation of nearly 3,000 metres, Ischgl has some of the longest and most snow sure slopes in the Alps and is open from Late November to early May each ski seas. For the ultimate sub-zero party experience, Ischgl hosts legendary open-air concerts at the Top of the Mountain at Idalp, celebrating the beginning of ski season in November and the end of season in May. Visitors can experience star-studded performances with an incredible Alpine backdrop.
Best suited to intermediates
Ischgl is the perfect place for intermediate skiers to discover the slopes offering well-maintained, broad pistes spanning 239 km. Skiing over the border to Samnaun in Switzerland is an alternative for intermediates providing lengthy, open cruiser runs lasting up to 8 km. Slope 5 down from Pardatschgrat is a popular favourite for those seeking a long descent spanning a total of 735 metres of elevation. Additionally, it also offers the best snow conditions even late into the afternoon thanks to Ischgl’s north-facing pistes.
