POCKET GUIDE TO HOLIDAYS TO REYKJAVIK

Best time to visit

The best time to embark on luxury holidays to Reykjavik is between April and September. The Midnight Sun phenomena, which is when the country experiences up to 20 hours of sunlight a day, occurs between mid-May and mid-August. With dry weather and low 20˚C warmth, the months of June to August are prime hiking season. For nature enthusiasts, May and June are the ideal months for birdwatching, whilst whales are most visible from May to September. September is also one of the best times to see the Northern Lights.

Reykjavik as part of an Iceland holiday

Embark on a classic exploration of Iceland when you combine luxury Reykjavik holidays with the Blue Lagoon and the Golden Circle. Start your trip with a visit to the famous Blue Lagoon geothermal spa, located in the lava fields just outside of Reykjavik. Whilst at the spa, enjoy a mud mask whilst relaxing in the balmy waters. On arrival in the capital, enjoy an evening cruise to see the Northern Lights. Then it is time to head to the Golden Circle, where you will visit Thingvellir National Park, the Great Geysir and Gullfoss Waterfall. Other exciting excursions include snowmobiling, whale watching, and exploring the lava tunnels of Raufarhólshellir.
