Trip Overview

Depart from Dublin to Albuquerque.

Upon arrival, pick up your rental car and drive through the Sandia Mountains and along the picturesque Turquoise Trail to your luxury accommodation in the heart of downtown Santa Fe, your home for the next three nights.

Get to know Santa Fe.

Feast on Native American cuisine at the home of chef and award-winning author, Lois Ellen Frank. You will also tour the campus of the Santa Fe Institute where researchers are studying complexity science, AKA the “Big Questions”.

Santa Fe
Journey to historic Taos.

Enjoy a three night stay at a luxury adobe casita. Privately tour Taos Pueblo, the oldest continually inhabited settlement in the US and a UNESCO-listed site. Your tour is led by the pueblo’s Director of Tourism, allowing you unparalleled access into the homes of locals.

Taos Pueblo
Discover farm life in Albuquerque.

Travel to the outskirts of New Mexico’s biggest city for a two night stay on an organic farm. Cycle through acres of lavender fields, cottonwood trees and lush manicured gardens and say hello to the farm’s alpacas, peacocks, Churro sheep and farm cat.

Alpaca in Albuquerque
Cross the border to the Lone Star State.

Drive to Marfa, Texas’ art hub. Spend two nights here, admiring the contrast of dusty railroad outposts and contemporary art scene. Drive to the edge of town and witness the mysterious Marfa Lights, surreal and unexplained flickers of light in the night sky.

Marfa
Experience the thrill of a Texan ranch.

Drive to one of the state’s oldest ranches, hidden in the Chinati Mountains, for a two night stay. On the expansive 30,000-acre estate, you can find historic forts, Native American petroglyphs and roaming local wildlife including turkeys, javelinas and roadrunners.

Fort in Chinati Mountains
Sleep under the starry skies of Big Bend National Park.

Float through the canyons of the park’s Rio Grande on an overnight river trip. Continue your road trip to a luxury ranch in Chalk Draw. Accompanied by an archaeologist, privately explore Bee Cave Canyon, the largest prehistoric rock shelter in the region.

Nighttime in Big Bend National Park
Enjoy tranquillity in the Davis Mountains.

Stay at a luxury ranch in these remote mountains for two nights. The sharp rise of these mountains forms a unique sky island. Guided by an astronomer from the McDonald Observatory, marvel at some of the darkest night skies in the country.

What people are saying

Conor in OROKO arranged a holiday this summer for us and our four teenage boys. We were unsure where to go and his advice was fantastic! He took over completely after a consultation about our expectations, taking into consideration our boys’ needs too! He most certainly delivered a tremendous holiday for us all – way beyond what we could have done ourselves, with each of our three destinations better than the last. All incredibly located and absolutely stunning!

Everything was done for us – check-ins/five-star transfers/individual bag tags/ferry transfers with all seats pre-booked! Conor was incredibly helpful, patient, knowledgable and open. It made our trip truly memorable from conception to finish and I cannot fathom planning a trip again without OROKO! Thank you for everything we will never forget it!
