Trip Overview

Depart from Dublin to Ecuador’s bustling capital.

You will be met on arrival in Quito and privately transferred to a boutique hotel in the heart of the old town.

Located high in the Andes, this is a capital city like no other.

You will spend two nights in the home of Ecuadorian Sierra culture exploring markets, tree lined thoroughfares and browsing traditional crafts.

Quito Architecture, Ecuador
No trip to Ecuador is complete without visiting the Equatorial line.

Allow us to arrange a private tour of La Mitad del Mundo. Here you will learn about the incredible region, myths about the equator and the history of the indigenous people of Ecuador.

Quito Ecuador
Transfer to the airport and take a domestic flight to San Cristobal.

Here you will board the MV Theory and embark on a 7-day cruise.

MV Theory
First stop on your tropical cruise is Genovesa.

This volcanic island has an area of just 14km. Located in the north eastern region of the Galapagos, the horseshoe shaped island is home to Darwin Bay. Known for its abundant birdlife, a trip to one of the visitor sites is a must for birdwatchers.

Galapagos
Heading south, you will sail towards the larger island of Santa Cruz.

Located in the centre of the archipelago, you will be visiting the northern side of the island. In an area called Las Baches, dozens of pink flamingos gather on the white sand where you are welcome to stroll. Later on, enjoy a nature walk on Dragon hill where your guides will point out some of the rarest plant and animal species.

Flamingo
The next morning, disembark the ship for an exciting zodiac ride.

Navigating the waves around Punta Vicente Roca, make sure to indulge in a spot of snorkelling amongst penguins, sunfish and sea turtles. In the afternoon, arrive at Urbina Bay on Isabela Island where centuries of volcanic activity have left a mark.

MV Theory zodiac boat
Next stop is Fernandina Island, the youngest and most pristine of all.

As of yet no animals have been introduced to the island so the ecosystem that has formed here is completely organic. Families of Sea Lions bask on the shore and hundred of marine iguanas warm themselves on the rocky beach. Look out for flightless cormorants and spend some time snorkelling with the native sea turtles.

Fernandina Island, Galapagos
Continuing North, stop off at Rabida beach on Jervis Island.

Here you will discover the diverse volcanic rock formations, a flamboyance of flamingos, Darwin’s finches and many more exciting geographical elements. Embark on a guided hike before returning to the ship for a farewell dinner on your penultimate evening.

MV Theory Dinner
Dock at Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz.

Visit the famous conservation centre that has been doing important work with tortoises for many years. Later in the day, head to Los Gemelos, a pair of large craters which are home to incredibly diverse plant life.

Disembark after seven nature filled days at Cerro Tijeretas.

Hike the trail to Punta Carola where there are spectacular views and enjoy some bird watching before your flight back to the mainland.

Blue-footed booby, Galapagos Islands
Depart for Guayaquil for some post cruise relaxation.

On arrival you will be met by your driver and privately transferred to a traditional Ecuadorian hacienda.

Guayaquil Ecuador
Unwind in a charming seaside location.

Enjoy horseback rides through the verdant countryside and dine on excellent farm to fork cuisine. You will spend two nights here soaking up the traditional culture.

Horses Hacienda Ecuador
It is time to return home.
