Trip Overview

Depart from Dublin to Lisbon.

A private driver will wait to transfer you to your luxury hotel in Lisbon, where you will stay for two nights.

Drive to Monsaraz in Portugal’s Alentejo region.

After collecting the keys for your hired car, make your way to Monsaraz. As you journey, stop in the little town of Azeitão which is famed for its glazed tiles. Here, you will have the unique opportunity to learn how the Atelier Tiles are made during a private pottery workshop.

Enjoy a scenic canoe ride across Europe’s largest artificial lake.

After settling in at your luxury hotel in Monsaraz, enjoy a scenic canoe excursion on Lake Alqueva. Paddle through calm waters and pass small islands as you travel along the route made by the river Codes until you reach the Guadiana river.

Spend an evening watching the night skies.

Far away from light pollution, take in the sight of many glittering stars at the Dark Sky Reserve during a visit to the Alqueva Lake Observatory. Here you may observe stars, nebulae and distant galaxies in an activity that is as old as time.
