Set out on a luxury exploration of the northernmost regions of the Iberian Peninsula. From wining and dining on the banks of the Douro River to exploring the historic shopfronts and iconic market stalls of Galicia’s Santiago de Compostela, this is a true celebration of Portugal and Spain’s flavourful cuisine. For the perfect blend of city and countryside exploration, we’ve arranged a scenic driving tour through the Peneda Gerês National Park as well as a pre-arranged rental car so that you can explore Galicia’s best beaches at your leisure.
Your private driver will be waiting to transfer you to your luxury hotel in central Porto. Your home for the next three nights, stroll through the Old Town and wander along its riverbanks, stopping off at its trendy port bars and restaurants.
Enjoy a decadent lunch and wine tasting on the banks of the Douro River.
Arrive in the family owned Quinta do Crasto and learn about its traditional foot treading winemaking methods, taste the renowned Douro Valley wines and sit down for a decadent three-course lunch.
Enjoy a guided driving tour, crossing the border from Portugal to Spain.
Leave the city of Porto to set out on a guided driving tour. Experience the scenic riverside town of Ponte de Lima and admire the beauty of Peneda Gerês National Park before crossing the border into the Spanish region of Galicia.
Arrive in the fishing port of Vigo.
We’ve arranged a two night stay in Vigo, giving you plenty of time to explore its many beaches, wine and dine on Galician delicacies and visit the city’s old port, home to the renowned neoclassical Church of Santa Maria. Just before leaving, pick up your pre-arranged rental car.
Drive to the pilgrimage city of Santiago de Compostela
Arrive in your historic Parador accommodation, where you’ll spend two nights. Get to know its impressive history as you explore its many churches, monasteries and palaces before relaxing with a café con leche and slice of tarta de Santiago.
Discover Galicia’s renowned cuisine on a private gastronomic tour.
Often referred to by natives as the best place to appreciate Spanish cuisine, a guided gastronomic tour is a must. Visit traditional shops and the Abastos Market, stopping to try classics like pulpo a la gallega, pimientos de padrón and percebes.
Get to know Santiago de Compostela even more as you continue on a guided tour.
Explore Santiago de Compostela’s historic centre and your guide will explain the history of the area, especially the story of how St. James came to be buried here. The town is as lively as it is charming, with many busy cafes and shops to browse.
Drive to the international airport for your flight home.
Drop off your rental car and board your flight home. Arrive in Dublin.
