In this wonderful suggested itinerary, we’re taking you on an alternative journey around Colombia. This itinerary is filled with incredible experiences and you will have the opportunity to get under the skin of this vibrant destination. Enjoy city tours with experts guides, stay in a beautiful wildlife camp where you will go horseriding alongside the local llaneros and go in search of giant anteaters, caimans, howler monkeys, pumas. Visit and stay in Barichara, the kind of town that Hollywood filmmakers dream of and go rum tasting with one of the best mixologists in Colombia. It’s a Colombian adventure with a twist!

Trip Overview

Fly from Dublin to Bogota, Colombia.

On arrival, your driver and guide will be waiting to take you to your accommodation where you’ll spend the next two nights.

Get to know the city on a privately guided tour.

Your guide will take you on a journey through time from Bogota’s colonial era to modern day urban life. Starting at the buzzing and colourful Paloquemao market. Then seek higher grounds with an exhilarating cable car ride to Monserrate Hill, which offers spectacular views. Finish at the grand Plaza de Bolivar and the surrounding government buildings and historic quarter.

It’s time to fly from Bogota to El Yopal, situated north of Bogotá.

Your driver and guide will be waiting to take you to your beautiful wildlife camp where you’ll spend the next three nights. During your stay, all of your meals and activities are included. You’ll be staying in a region that has one of the highest concentration of wildlife in Colombia.

During your stay, experience life at a working cattle ranch alongside the local llaneros or Colombian cowboys.

Their distinctive work chants were declared a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage. Go in search of giant anteaters, caimans, howler monkeys, pumas, and over 270 species of birds alongside a scientific guide and a local llanero cowboy with empirical knowledge of wildlife in Colombia.

Spend your day on incredible adventures.

Go horseback riding, tracking wildlife in 4×4 vehicles, experience helicopter expeditions, birdwatching, canoeing, fishing piranhas, taking nature walks. Your naturalist guide with scientific knowledge of wildlife, bird watching, and conservation will be accompanying you on all activities.

Next, fly from El Yopal to Bogotá and then on to Bucaramanga.

With your driver and guide, you’ll be transferred from Bucaramanga to Barichara to a beautiful property where you’ll spend the next three nights. Barichara the kind of town that Hollywood filmmakers dream of as many films and soap operas in Spanish are filmed here.
