Today, we are sharing four of our firm favourite restaurants to give you just a taste of what is on offer in South Africa’s wonderful Winelands.

Tokara restaurant, established in 2001, is one of the first celebrated winery restaurants in the Cape Winelands. The restaurant is renowned for its five large-scale tapestry displays created by celebrated artist William Kentridge. A dining experience at Tokara promises modern fine-dining, award-winning wines and beautiful vistas over Stellenbosch and False Bay. Menus are contemporary and feature innovative cooking techniques and flavour combinations.

Delaire Graff Restaurant

The Delaire Graff Restaurant creates menus that revolve around seasonality and sustainability. Sample a range of contemporary dishes, all of which perfectly match with award-winning local wines. With one of the best terrace views in the country, admire dramatic views over the rolling hills and vineyards towards Banhoek Valley.

La Petite Colombe

La Petite Colombe is the sister restaurant of the award-winning La Colombe Restaurant in Constantia. Dine in the modern dining space and enjoy a refined tasting menu expertly prepared under the watchful eye of celebrated chef James Gaag. Prepare for technical and contemporary dishes like smoked snoek with curried labneh and oatmeal with honey and sweetcorn. There is also a dedicated vegetarian tasting menu. Each dish is perfectly paired with award-winning wines from surrounding vineyards.


Hidden Valley Wines, Annandale Rd, Stellenbosch | +27 21 880 2721

Overture is a rustic-style restaurant within the estate of Hidden Valley Wines. Renowned chef, Bertus Basson, takes inspiration from his mother’s cooking methods and recipes to create modern interpretations of much-loved South African dishes. There is also a six-course tasting menu which features delicious dishes like beetroot tart and beef sirloin with smoked onion puree.
