Begin in Seoul, where centuries-old city walls and traditional markets sit alongside the bright lights of Hongdae. Travel south by high-speed train to Busan for coastal views, Buddhist temples and an introduction to Korean makgeolli, before flying to Jeju Island to walk among volcanic landscapes and discover the traditions of its haenyeo divers.
8 nights in South Korea, including return Etihad Airways flights, private transfers, 5-star B&B accommodation, KTX rail travel between Seoul and Busan, domestic flight to Jeju and privately guided experiences throughout. From €5,999 per person.
South Korea changes quickly over the course of this journey. Seoul begins among the gates, city walls and markets of the old capital before moving into a very different world after dark, when Hongdae fills with music, shops, fried chicken bars and noraebang.
Further south, Busan has the sea at its edge. Follow the coastline from Cheongsapo and Haeundae before learning about one of Korea's oldest drinks at a local makgeolli brewery and ending among the temples of Geumjeongsan Mountain.
Jeju changes the landscape again. Volcanic cones rise across the island, forest trails follow ancient craters and Seongsan Ilchulbong stands above the eastern coastline. The island is also home to the haenyeo, generations of women who have traditionally dived into the surrounding waters to gather seafood. Three nights here bring the journey to a slower close, with a final day left entirely free.

Arrive in Seoul and privately transfer to Sofitel Ambassador Seoul, set beside Seokchon Lake in Jamsil. The rest of the day is free to settle in and take a first look at the Korean capital.
South Korea works best when its contrasts are given room. Spend time in Seoul after dark, look beyond Busan's skyline to its food and traditions, and keep the final day on Jeju free. For those interested in Korea's more recent history, a visit to the DMZ can also be arranged from Seoul.
