On this suggested itinerary, we’ve created a holiday boasting unrivalled luxury as you explore the region on board your privately chartered Belmond barge. Spend each day relaxing in your heated pool, dining on decadent feasts prepared by your private chef and cycling alongside the barge as it chugs along the river at a lazy pace. Your seven night stay will include wine tastings, historic tours and a glamorous evening dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Trip Overview

Depart from Dublin to Lyon.

You will be met on arrival by your private driver who will transfer you to St Leger sur Dheune where you will board the luxury Belmond barge. Check in and meet the crew who will be catering to your every wish for the next seven days.

Discover the beauty of the Canal du Centre with a leisurely cruise.

Spend the morning relaxing and admiring the beauty of the French countryside. After lunch, drive to Chateau de Rully. You’ll be welcomed by the Count, who will show you around his medieval castle and share stories of his ancestors.

Disembark the barge to visit the pretty village of Fragnes.

Enjoy a luxurious lunch at the fabulous Michelin-starred restaurant, Le Montrachet. Afterwards, embark on a guided tour of the wine cellars of Chateau de Pommard before enjoying an exclusive wine tasting with an expert sommelier.

Enjoy the scenery you as enter the valley of the River Saone.

Stop off at Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy. Visit the 15^th-century Hotel Dieu to discover 500 years of Burgundian history. Enjoy a private wine tasting and stroll through the old town, taking in the wonderful architecture.

Enter the iconic Burgundy Canal.

Visit the historic Clos de Vougeot, where Cistercian monks have been making wine since the 12^th-century. The ancient chateau is now the headquarters of the celebrated Burgundian wine society and still houses the ancient cellar and wine presses from medieval times.

Arrive in Dijon.

Your guide will take you on a walking tour of historic Dijon where you will visit the Ducal Palace, the Grey Poupon mustard shop and the bustling food market. Tonight, the barge moors in the port of Dijon where you will enjoy a gourmet farewell dinner.

Awaken in beautiful Dijon on the final morning of your cruise. Enjoy a delectable breakfast of buttery croissants and steaming hot coffee before disembarking. Your private driver will be waiting for you to transfer you to the airport.
