Introduction

Sheltered in the magnificent gorges and valleys of the imposing Caucasus Mountains, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia beckon with complex ancient histories, amazing natural environments and enthralling cultures. Dense in UNESCO World Heritage sites, the countries of the South Caucasus tell their stories through the rich tapestry of monuments that dot their landscapes. Set on the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan’s cosmopolitan Baku is as rich in history as the rural villages of its west. Traditions of winemaking still ring strong in Georgia alongside a wealth of early Christian churches. Medieval monasteries are scattered across Armenia’s countryside, closely followed by dramatically beautiful landscapes. Discover days of yore as you tour the stunning capitals and remote ancient wonders of these marvellous countries.

You will be greeted on arrival by an OROKO representative and privately transferred to your luxury hotel in the city centre. Enjoy a two night stay here, exploring the city and learning about is ancient past.

Discover the historic wonders of Baku.

On a privately guided tour, visit key sights around the city. Traipse the medieval walls of the Old City, explore the majestic Shirvanshah Palace complex, marvel at the architectural gem that is the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Centre and learn about the city’s connection to the famous Nobel family.

Set out for Armenia.

On your way, visit one of the world’s largest alpine lakes, Lake Sevan. Filling two inter-mountain depressions, the waters of the lake plummeted sharply following a Soviet hydroelectricity scheme, turning the ancient lake monastery of Sevanavank into a peninsula monastery.
