Let's plan your trip!
South East Asia offers an abundance of tastes, smells, history and culture. Cambodia is a bucket-list destination for many, and combining it with the lesser-explored countryside of Laos makes for a unique South East Asian experience. As you follow the path of the Mekong, experience the French colonial influences in Luang Prabang and witness authentic country life in Champasak. Arriving in Cambodia, ancient history of the Angkor Wat temple complex meets the darker and more recent history of the Khmer Rouge regime. With a brief stop in the Gulf of Thailand to enjoy some down-time, this itinerary is a perfectly paced exploration of this fascinating corner of Asia.
Arrive in the UNESCO World Heritage Site where you will be met by your driver and English-speaking guide and brought to your accommodation.
Morning alms giving service and city tour.
Early risers can opt to partake in a unique alms giving service where you’ll gift traditional Lao sticky rice to the Buddhist monks of Luang Prabang. Return to your hotel for breakfast and explore the key sights of the city with your expert guide.
Depart from Luang Prabang to Pakse.
Spend three nights on the peaceful banks of the Mekong. Enjoy sunset cruises each evening, and visit the nearby Vat Phou, a perfect warm up before visiting the larger temple complex of Angkor Wat.
Depart from Pakse to Phnom Penh.
First, you’ll dive into the dark history of the Khmer Rouge Regime. Spending two nights in Cambodia’s capital, you’ll visit the infamous killing fields and learn about the atrocities committed by Pol Pot just four decades ago.
Depart from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville.
On arrival, take a quick speedboat journey to the island of Krabey, an idyllic retreat in the Gulf of Thailand. Spend four days relaxing in beautiful surroundings before returning to Cambodia.
Depart from Sihanoukville to Siem Reap.
Spend your final three nights in one of South East Asia’s most vibrant cities. Witness sunrise over the stunning temples of Angkor Wat before enjoying a champagne breakfast by the Northern Reflection Pond.
Depart from Siem Reap and return to Dublin.
