Trip Overview

Depart from Dublin to Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka.

Your private driver will transfer you to the ancient capital of Anuradhapura, where you will spend three nights. The Ceylonese former capital dates back as far as the 10th-century BC and is home to a wonderful variety of well-preserved ruins.

Cycle through the ruins of Anuradhapura.

With your local guide, ride alongside scenic rice fields, villages and architecturally stunning structures like Abayagiri Dagoba, the largest Buddhist monument in the world. Along the way, enjoy a delicious picnic by the Elephant Pond.

Enjoy a hot air balloon over the Cultural Triangle at sunrise.

Gently float over the country’s World Heritage Sites on an exclusive experience above the skies. From the ancient kingdom of Anuradhapura to the Golden Temple of Dambulla, discover the holiest lands of Sri Lanka.

Transfer to Kandy, one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world.

During your two night stay, climb the world-famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress with your local guide. Marvel at one of the most dramatic and inspiring landmarks in the world and discover its incredible history.

Marvel at the beauty of Dambulla Cave Temple.

One of the most visited landmarks in Sri Lanka, the temple complex is home to over 2,000 years of history, with ancient statues and frescos to admire. We’ll finish the day at a local farm, where you’ll follow a farmer through his plantations.

Next stop, the Temple of the Tooth.

Another religious masterpiece, the sacred tooth relic was brought to Sri Lanka in the 4th century AD. Your guide will take you through various chambers, explaining the history and significance of the temple and its contents.

Board the tea train to the green hills of Dickoya.

Enjoy one of the most scenic train journeys in the world as you travel through the weaving tracks amid tea plantations, rice fields and mountainsides. On arrival, check in to your luxury hotel in Dickoya for your three night stay.

Set out on an exploration of a local tea factory and plantation.

Explore the plantation with your private guide and visit the factory to see the fascinating ancient machines that pre-date the industrial revolution. Afterwards, enjoy a delicious tea tasting in the gardens.

Take a scenic transfer to Tangalle for a relaxing beach-side stay.

Spend three nights in a luxurious resort and relax and unwind by the spacious swimming pool, in the peaceful gardens or by the shores. We’ll arrange restaurant reservations throughout your stay.

Transfer to the historic city of Galle.

During your two-night stay, explore the fortified old city which was founded by Portuguese colonists in the 16th century. Wander through cobblestone streets and visit sites like the famed Galle Fort, Galle Fort Lighthouse and the Dutch Reformed Church.

Transfer to the international airport for your flight home.
