Surama Eco Lodge
Surama Eco Lodge is a rustic and charming property located in Makushi village. This beautiful setting is unique with dry savannah surrounded by a rainforest border making up the landscape. Staff at the lodge are all locals from the village from which 70 people are employed. The community relies on tourism to support the local economy and so guests are treated like family and welcomed with open arms. The lodge is made up of four traditional benab buildings and four newer cabins. The lodge uses locally grown produce in all meals served at the lodge and the traditional recipes are loved by all.
